Transform Your Life with this Teacher Side Job

Teaching is hard work. We all know this but we do it anyway. We know it’s long hours and we know it’s being involved in many “extras” that other jobs don’t have and we do all of this for little pay. Why? Because we love our kids. We do it because we want to make a difference in other people’s lives.

How is it fair that we make a sacrifice everyday as teachers? We either sacrifice our calling by leaving the teaching world to do something that will help us be more financially stable or we struggle financially while we live out our dream of teaching kids. Why can’t we do both? Why can’t we teach and make a decent living?

We can.

I’ve learned that we can do both. What started as a little teacher side job has become so much more to my life. I make a difference in not only just my student’s lives but the lives of students around the world with my resources.

Transform Your Life with This Teacher Side Job

My Story

I started selling on TeachersPayTeachers at the end of 2016 as a way to put my resources out there and earn a little extra cash. I didn’t think much of it, just put together some of the things I was doing in my classroom already and threw them up in my store. My first product I put in was an Elf on the Shelf resource and it took off (or what I consider “took off” as far as being a new seller goes). When I started making money on this one resource, I began to think about where this little “teacher side job” could go.

I thought about all the teachers I could help with my creative ideas. I thought about all the students across the world I could help with activities I was already creating for my own classroom. And of course, I thought about how I could earn that extra bit of money that would supplement my teaching salary.

When I thought about all these things, I decided I would learn as much as I could about this business and how to create a business of my own. I took a leap of faith, invested in myself and my growing business and now what started as a teacher side job, is now a much bigger dream.

Sell Teaching Resources on Teachers Pay Teachers

If you’re a teacher (which I think you are if you’re reading this) then you already know the stress and pressure teachers are under. We have so many things to do and not enough time. Teachers Pay Teachers is such a great platform for teachers to find good lessons, created by people who are actually in the classroom and know what students are capable of. You could be that teacher that puts creative and engaging lessons on this platform for busy teachers to use with their students.

Reasons to Start this Online Side Job

  • Put Up Lessons You’re Already Using in Your Classroom

Chances are, you’re already doing amazing things in your classroom! Why not get paid to share them with other teachers?

  • Help Teachers and Students All Over the World

Teachers love to help people. It’s something we all have in common. Through this online side job, I’ve been able to help teachers all over the world. When my resources make their way into other classrooms, I am indirectly teaching students all over.

teacher-side-job

You’re already making amazing things for your students, why not get paid for them?

  • Get Paid

It’s hard to live on a teacher salary. When you start a side job, selling teaching resources online, you get paid for your resources. These are things you are already an expert on and making for your class anyway! So, why not get paid?

  • Do this Side Job From Home

This is a great side job for teachers as you can do it all from home. Most of the time when I’m creating, I’m sitting on my couch, in my yoga pants, in front of a TV show (that I don’t have to pay much attention to).

Share Your Ideas on a Teacher Blog

Selling your teaching resources online could be a great teacher side job for you, but if you want to make a big difference, you need to share your ideas and resources on a teacher blog. A blog opens up a world of new opportunities than just selling on Teachers Pay Teachers.

  • A Teacher Blog is Your Own

Yes, Teachers Pay Teachers is a fabulous website to put your resources on, but you don’t own it. A blog is a place you own and have control over. You decide how it looks, you decide the content that goes up, and there is no algorithm to try to beat. When you start a blog, you have the option to also open a storefront and sell your teaching resources on your own platform.

  • You’re Helping Many Teachers With More Than Just Your Resources

When you have a blog, you’re sharing more than just your resources. You can share ideas, creative ways to teach something or anything in your expertise. When you help teachers be successful in their own classroom, they want to come back to you and will look for your resources.

  • People get to Know, Like and Trust You

A blog is a great way for people to get to know you. I don’t know about you but I feel much better purchasing something when I know someone’s story. It’s a win-win when I’m getting something I need and also feel good about who the money is going to.

  • Get Paid Through Affiliates and Email Marketing

Having a blog as part of your online side job, gives you more opportunities to earn money. You can get paid through being an affiliate and marketing products you already use and love. You can also build up your own email list and share products and deals that you might be having. An email list is the only sure way you know your information is getting into the hands of your customers.

Enroll in Transform Your Resources

If you are serious about creating this side job, you need to enroll in Transform Your Resources, a course by Kayse Morris. Kayse takes you through the ins and outs of how to be successful teacherprenuer. She is the reason my dream has developed from just having a little side job to building an empire.

What You’ll Learn

  • How to Create Visually Appealing Products

You’ll take the products you’re already creating for your students and you’ll make them pop, so other teachers want to purchase them. You’ll learn about fonts and clip arts and the importance of pairing certain “looks” together. When you sign up for this course, you’ll also learn how to create editable resources, something so valuable to teachers.

  • SEO and How to Get Your Products in Front of More Eyes

Before this course, I knew absolutely nothing about SEO. I don’t even think I knew what SEO stood for. After this course, my products and my blog posts are showing up on the first page of search engines. Because I got my SEO in order, my products are selling more.

  • How to Make What Teachers Want

The only way you’re going to sell anything is if you’re making what teachers want to buy. The course goes over ways to make your products valuable for other teachers.

  • Email and Social Media Marketing

It’s great if you have amazing ideas and awesome resources but the only way others are going to see it, is if you are marketing. Kayse teaches you how to market your products through email and social media.

What to Expect

When I started selling my teaching resources at the end of 2016, I knew I wanted to learn all I could about starting a business. I invested in courses that taught me bits and pieces of what I needed to know but were never the full package.

Kayse is an expert because she started on Teachers Pay Teachers, tripled her salary and was able to leave teaching to pursue this side job full time. Now, she helps other teachers like me and like you do the same.

  • It Will Change Your Life

When I started this course, my Teachers Pay Teachers store was just a side job at home. After completing it and getting to know Kayse and all the Go-Getters I took the course with, I’ve decided to build a business. I won’t be going back to the classroom next year. I’ve decided to stay home with my son and pursue my online business full time.

I thought I would be a teacher forever and in some ways I will, but this course changed my life because I have the dream to be more. I will expand my reach of just a handful of students each year, and I’ll help students and teachers all over the world.

If you have any thoughts of wanting to make a difference and start a teacher side job like this, enroll in this course. We’re ready for you!

Market your TpT Products by Starting a Teacher Blog +Step by Step Instructions on How to Start a Blog with WordPress

Do you have a TpT store and want more sales? A great way to market your TpT products is through promoting them on your teacher blog.

In this post you’ll have the opportunity to sign up for a free email mini-course on specifically how to start your blog through WordPress. Now on to why blogging is a great way to market your TpT products.

Market Your TpT Products by Starting a Teacher Blog

When I was student teaching, I discovered TeachersPayTeachers. Once I found out that I could start a store and help other teachers by selling my own products, I knew it was only a matter of time. I’ve also always loved writing and sharing my story so a blog was a natural fit. When I put the two together, I’m able to use one platform (my blog) to reach more teachers and benefit the other (my TpT store).

A blog can help you grow your TpT store.

I started my blog around the same time I started my TpT store so I’ve only ever known the two together, however, I know that my blog has helped my TpT store grow to what it is today. I know this because when I check where my traffic to my TpT store comes from, the highest traffic is my blog besides the TpT site itself. The traffic section on my TpT dashboard even tells me how much money I make each month from my blog.

Want to get more traffic to your TeachersPayTeachers store? Start a teacher blog! My blog has given my store more exposure as I'm able to market through this platform. Read on to find out how to market your TpT store with a teacher blog.

Why does a blog help market my TpT store?

You can write blog posts about your products.

Blog posts can be super helpful when you want to explain a TpT product. Through a blog post, you can give directions, showcase the product and explain why other teachers need it in their classroom. You can also link products to a related blog post. The post doesn’t have to be all about the product.

Check out these posts for an example.

Buyers get to know you on a more personal level.

Think about products you buy. What are your favorite things to buy? I don’t know about you, but I like when I connect to a person or a brand. I feel much happier knowing that I’m supporting a person or business that has the same values as I do. When you write blog posts, your buyers get to know you on a more personal level and they’ll want to support your business.

You can pin your blog posts on Pinterest/Tailwind to gain more traffic.

I don’t know about you but I search for EVERYTHING on Pinterest. Well, if you create these awesome blog posts about your TpT products or featuring your products, your posts will be found by others on Pinterest!

How to Create a Template in Powerpoint for a Series of TpT Products

As a teacher, business owner, wife, friend and more, I have much I have to do in my life as I’m sure you do as well. This is why, I’m always looking for time savers that will keep productivity high without sucking all the time from my day. To save time on creating products, I create templates in Powerpoint for all my series of products. These are products that I know will look the same but will have a different theme or concept. Making templates in all aspects of your business can save so much time plus it gives you a cohesive look to your store and products.

How to Create a Template in Powerpoint

  1. Open Powerpoint and create your template.
  2. Name your template by saving it.
  3. Click File –> Save as Template –> Save
  4. Your template has been created!

Do you sell on TpT? Save time by creating templates for products that look the same or similar. This post gives you a tutorial, tips and template ideas!

To create a new product using your template, you’ll open Powerpoint, then click File –> New From Template. Find your template and begin creating!

Template Ideas for Your TpT Business

  • Pinterest pin and long pin
  • thumbnail
  • task cards
  • clip cards
  • cards for games
  • board games

Tips When Creating Templates

  1. Make sure everything is centered. An easy way to do this is to click on whatever it is you want centered then click Arrange –> Align and whatever alignment you want.
  2. Use tables to create boxes that are the same size. I use tables when creating cards, clip cards, task cards basically any type of card!
  3. Put in text boxes and type something in them in the font you’ll use so you don’t have to enter new ones each time.

How to Create Pins for Your TpT Products

Pinterest is such a great resource to generate tons of traffic for your TpT products. However, you can’t just pin your thumbnail because square pictures just don’t show well on Pinterest. That’s why it’s so beneficial to take the extra step and create a unique pin for each TpT product. (Okay, I’m guilty of just pinning my square thumbnails, but my pins do better when they’re “Pinterest” size.) Here’s how I create my pins!

One of the best ways to get your TpT products seen is by putting them on Pinterest! Read how to create pins for your TpT products in this post!

How to Create Pins for Your TpT Products

I create pins in two different ways: 1) using Canva and 2) using Powerpoint. Mostly, I use Canva because I like the “Brand” feature, so I can click into a template I’ve made, that way many of my product pins look similar. It also saves time rather than setting up and creating brand new pins every time. You could set up a template on Powerpoint as well, I just haven’t.

Large Readable Title

The first thing you need when creating your TpT product pin is a title. Make sure this is easy to read as you want it to stand out when teachers are scrolling through Pinterest. Now is not the time to use the cutesty font that may be super cute, but is unreadable. I also try to keep my title short but descriptive of what the product is. You can put the extra details in the description below the pin picture.

One of the best ways to get your TpT products seen is by putting them on Pinterest! Read how to create pins for your TpT products in this post!

Picture

Once you have your title, you need to add a picture (or pictures) of the product. Many teachers like to visualize how the product would look in their classroom. You can help them do this by showing your product in action. So, while you’re having your students test out your product, make sure you snap some pictures that you can use when you create your pin!

Watermark or Logo

Lastly, I like to add my watermark on the pin so teachers can see at a glance that the product is my work. This helps me as I grow my brand so others can recognize my work and it’ll help you grow your brand as well!

A Simple Way to Track your Finances for your TpT Business

When I first started selling on TpT, I loved hearing the cha-ching from my TpT app but I didn’t know exactly what was coming in each month compared to what I was spending each month. All I knew is that I was hoping the cha-ching was more than the spending. Now that I’ve been selling for about a year an a half or so, I’ve started tracking my finances to be sure I come out making more money than spending monthly. That’s why, I created a TpT Financial Tracking Sheet.

This resource is super helpful as it shows me exactly what I’m making each month and breaks down where I’m spending money (for business purposes) as well. Read on to see how I track my finances each month and to get your own TpT Financial Tracking Sheet.

Do you have a TpT store but have trouble knowing what comes in each month? Check out how I track my income monthly! Freebie included!

Monthly Tracking

At the beginning of each month, I go to my TpT dashboard and check how much money I made for the previous month. For example, around July 1st I’ll check my income for the month of June. I also track my expenses. These are things that I use for my business such as clip art I purchase to make resources, canva (for images), Convertkit (to give you awesome freebies through email) and Link in Profile (to put links to Instagram images). These mostly stay the same so I know how much I need to make each month in order to be in the positive.

Do you have a TpT store but have trouble knowing what comes in each month? Check out how I track my income monthly! Freebie included!

Goal Setting

It’s good practice to set goals for next month. I find that when I set goals, I tend to be more motivated and focused. I have to be honest, I could definitely be better at this (but hey, we’re all human). I’ll be making a point to be better at setting a monthly goal when I fill out my previous month’s financial tracking sheet.

You can set a monthly goal each month too when you fill out your own TpT Financial Tracking Sheet. Get yours below!

My Summer Schedule to Grow my TpT Store

Last summer was the first summer I put work into my TpT store and business. This summer, I plan to grow my store even more, now that I have a better idea of what I’m doing and have more experience under my belt. I’ve created a summer schedule so I can be productive while still leaving time to relax and spend quality time with friends and family (and my pup of course)! Take a look at my summer schedule to grow my TpT store below.

I’ve divided tasks into how often I need to get them done: daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly.

My Summer Schedule

Daily

Write for the Blog

I’ve set a goal to write at least something for my blog everyday. It can be an idea, an outline for a post or a full blown post, I just want to write something. My goal is to get far enough ahead that I’m not scrambling to write a post the day before it goes live. I want to work so I can have a few months scheduled out ahead of time. (Of course I won’t be doing this while I’m on vacation or certain weekends/events – but for the most part, I will write daily.)

I post daily on Instagram already and I will continue to post daily. During the summer, I’ll still post tips and ideas for the classroom but I’ll also post about my summer life and how I’m spending my summer. Let’s connect on this platform – follow me at @one_kreative_kindergarten and send me a message! I’d love to meet you!

Want to grow your TpT store this summer? Check out this post to see my summer schedule and how I plan to spend my time so I can grow my business through my blog and TpT store. Summer Calendar Freebie Included Teacher, teaching ideas, summer schedule, teacher organization, tpt store, edupreneur, teacherspayteachers

Weekly

Post a New Product

For the past few months, I’ve slowed down on creating new products, mostly because it’s been a busy season in my life personally and professionally. Over the summer, I plan to post a new product each week.

I currently have a growing bundle for classroom decor that I’ll be getting products out for. Check it out and get it for a discount here!

Schedule Pins on Tailwind

I currently take a day (usually Sundays) and I schedule out my pins on Tailwind for the week. I’ll continue to do this as I can just set it and forget it. Posting through Tailwind has helped me gain tons of traffic to my blog which gives more exposure to my TpT products and store. My blog is my second highest traffic source besides TeachersPayTeachers itself.

Post in Facebook Groups

One of my goals this summer is to be more active in the Facebook groups I belong to. Three of my top favorite Facebook groups for blogging/TpT/Instagram are Teacher Blogger + Seller Network, Instagram Connection for Educators, and TpT Sellers.

Create Pins for TpT Products

I’ve noticed that pins for my TpT products get shared more when they aren’t just the cover of my TpT product. I want to go back through my entire store and create pin sized pins (longer pins) instead of just pinning my square thumbnail images.

Bi-Weekly

Post Blog Posts

Currently, I post once a week on my blog. If you want to see something specific on my blog leave me a comment below! I’d love to help you and give you want you want to see more of!

Monthly

Schedule out/Brainstorm Blog Posts

To help me stay on top of posts and work a month or two in advance, I’ll be scheduling out and brainstorming my posts monthly. Looking ahead helps me see the bigger picture and schedule where I can post about upcoming products or give a deeper explanation to future buyers.

Update an Older Product

I have almost 100 products in my store and some of them need updates real bad! I plan to update some of these at least once a month, possibly a few times a month.

Complete an Online Course that will Benefit my Business

Last year, I purchased the Genius Bloggers Toolkit and now that I’ll have more time in the summer, I want to put time into learning more that will help grow my blog and TpT store. I’ll be working on at least one online course a month!

I’m so excited to spend this summer working on my business by growing both my blog and TpT store! What projects are you working on this summer? Share them below!

I started my blog and TeachersPayTeachers store around the same time about a year and a half ago. Once I decided to really put time into my business, I learned so much about what works (and what doesn’t) and how to gain followers and page views on both my blog and TpT products. I use 3 main resources that have helped me gain and grow an audience. These top 3 resources lead to more views on my blog and TpT store and ultimately more sales on my products.

Want to grow your blog or TeachersPayTeachers store but don't know how? Check out the 3 top resources I cannot live without that help me grow my blog and TpT store.

The Top 3 Resources I Use to Grow my Blog and TpT Store

1. Tailwind

Tailwind is a website that schedules out your Pinterest posts which helps you automate Pinterest so you’re posting daily (and multiple times a day). Tailwind has helped me grow my blog and TpT store because it get’s my posts out at times when people are most likely to see it. Through Tailwind, I can schedule out a single post to go out to multiple boards but at scattered times of the day and throughout the week. I’m also able to join Tailwind Tribes and share my content and products with other teacherpreneurs who then share my posts on their boards. Once I started using Tailwind, I noticed a huge growth in my daily page views.

2. Instagram

The teacher Instagram community is strong and supportive. I’ve met so many teachers on this platform who have become more like friends than strangers. Once you find your tribe, you’ll notice that people will start to shout you out and spread the word to their followers about what you are doing. I’ve gained blog and TpT followers through this platform as well as gotten my content and products out through this top resource.

Another way I use Instagram is to promote my blog posts or TpT products. I use Link in Profile to give my followers a way to get to the post or TpT product. Using Link in Profile and Instagram has given me another way to reach potential buyers and grow my blog.

3. Canva

Another top resource I use is Canva. I use Canva for all my blog pictures, blog post Pins, TpT product Pins and Instagrams. Canva is so user-friendly and even has templates for whatever platform you’re designing for. This resource helps me keep my brand consistent because I can input my website colors and fonts, so I can easily use them when creating new pictures. Canva is a definite go to when designing pictures for your blog or TpT store.

I use these top 3 resources each and every time I work on my blog or TeachersPayTeachers store. Without them, it’d be a lot harder to continue to grow my audience and product sales. Tell me the resource you can’t live without in the comments below!

What I’ve Learned About Selling on TeachersPayTeachers for One Year

TeachersPayTeachers has become a big part of my professional life. I’ve had my TpT store for a couple of years, however I only really got serious a little over a year ago. When I decided to get serious, I researched and tried to learn everything I could about product creation, marketing, and everything TpT. I want to share what I’ve learned throughout this journey of selling on TeacherspayTeachers.

What I’ve Learned About Selling on TeachersPayTeachers for One Year

Use Powerpoint

I learned this the hard way, after making an entire bundle on pages (Macs version of word). Before I knew that PowerPoint was the way to go for product creation, I used pages and struggled with formatting things exactly how I wanted it. It was never perfect and it really bugged me. It also took tons of time. Then, I learned that most TpTers use PowerPoint because it’s way easier to format and move things around! Since I learned this, I’ve never looked back and I ONLY use PowerPoint when creating a product.

TeachersPayTeachers has become a huge part of my professional life. After selling for one year, I've learned so much and want to share what I've learned with you. Check out this post to read all I've learned about selling on TeachersPayTeachers.

Invest in Your Business

One thing I kept hearing when listening to podcasts or researching online is to invest in your business. From the day you open a TpT store, treat it as your business, not just a hobby. When you look at it as a business, you take more seriously and so does your potential buyers.

When I started a store, I knew I wanted to start a blog to have a platform to market my products. I invested in a blogging course, Elite Blog Academy. With this course, I learned how to start my blog, what’s important in blogging and how to get my posts seen. I’ve also invested in my business by buying quality clip art. Yes, there are a lot of cute free clip art sets online, however if you want to create quality products, you must purchase some quality clip art. Although I’ve sort of become clip art obsessed, especially for Creating4theClassroom‘s clip art, I know it’ll pay off in the long run because my products have that professional look.

Learn How You Can Best Market

When you first start out on TpT, there’s so much to do and you already feel like your behind when looking at all the other TpT authors out there. I know that marketing is important for business because how are your buyers going to find you if you don’t market? What I learned was to focus on one or two platforms. I learned what platforms I was best at and enjoyed most. Those platforms are Instagram, Pinterest and blogging. I have a Facebook as well but haven’t put any time into it because I just haven’t had the time to figure it out yet, and that’s okay! Facebook isn’t something I use in my personal life, so it just didn’t call me the way the other platforms did.

Take Your Time on Your Products

Of course I probably don’t need to tell you this, but it’s so important to take your time on your products. I’ll be honest, sometimes (especially when I’m making a big bundle) I’ll get bored with it and want to just finish it and throw it up, so that I can be done and can work on something new and more exciting. When I feel this way, I know that I’m not in my best creating mood. Instead of creating, I’ll focus on a different aspect of my business like the marketing or blogging. Then, when I’m feeling inspired or energized, I’ll work on creating or finishing a product.

Only Make What You’re Going to Use in Your Classroom

You know your grade level best which means you’re an expert in what your students are learning, what they struggle with and how to best engage them. It just doesn’t make sense for a kinder teacher like me to create fifth grade content. It also wouldn’t be helpful to me, my students or my classroom. When you make things you’re going to use in your classroom, you’re more enthusiastic and believe in your products more.

What I've Learned About Selling on TeachersPayTeachers for One Year

Test Out Your Products

When you create resources for the classroom, you also need to test them out. I cannot tell you how many times I’ll make something, have my students use it and they’ll say something like “it’s hard to read” or “what do we do?”. Sometimes, I even catch a spelling mistake, oops! When you test out your products with your own class, you’re able to see what works and what you need to change, before you put it up on TpT. This eliminates some not so good reviews that you could receive from having these problems.

TpT is Not a Get Rich Quick Situation

I’ve been selling for a little over a year on TeachersPayTeachers and although I have seen a ton of growth, I’m no where near a top seller or making what I want to make. It takes a ton of time and lots of energy to earn money on TpT. My advice to new sellers is to keep on making quality products and do not give up. Once I had about 50 products in my store, I saw more sales. Now that I have this blog, I’m seeing even more sales. Keep on chugging along and you will make it!

How to Create a Thank You and Credits Page for all Your TpT Products

Until recently, I would create a new Thank You and Credits page every time I made a resource to put in my TpT store. I always hated this part of adding a resource because I would make it after already creating the new product. At that point, I would be tired and ready to just throw it up on TpT.

I knew that this was not the right way to go about it. I also knew that a Thank You page could be very beneficial if I included the right things. What I didn’t know was how to go about making one that I could use for each resource. So, I started researching how I could have a beneficial Thank You page that I wouldn’t have to create from scratch each time I created a new product. Here’s what I learned about how to create a thank you and credits page for all your TpT products.

Are you tired of creating and re-creating your thank you and credits page for your TpT products? Check out this post for two different ways you can create this page that you can use over and over for ever product!

How to Create a Thank You and Credits Page for All Your TpT Products

There are two ways (that I know of) to create a Thank You and Credits page with links that you can use over and over with every TpT product. You can use Adobe (which I pay for monthly) or you can use Canva which is free (you can upgrade to Canva for Work – not necessary for this).

How to Use with Adobe

First create your Thank You and Credits page in PowerPoint. PowerPoint is my go to, whenever I create any PDF (including all my products on TpT). PowerPoint makes it really easy to move around images and text boxes so you can make it look exactly how you want.

Once you’re happy with how it looks, export it to a PDF. Then, when you open the PDF document it’ll open in Adobe Acrobat. From there, you can add links by clicking “Edit PDF”, “Link” and “Add/Edit Web or Document Link”. Insert the link by drawing an invisible square around what you want to be linked and then type in the URL. Done and done!

When I created my Thank You and Credits page this way, I created a general Thank You page on one page and then a Credits page on another. That way, I can edit to incorporate each clip/font artist depending on what I used for that product. You edit the links and pictures the same way, by clicking edit and either adding or deleting an image/link.

How to Create on Canva

To create your Thank You and Credits page in Canva, you go to “Create a Design” and choose “US Letter”. Then, design your page however you want with images and text boxes. Once you’re happy with how your page looks, you can add links to the images (or text boxes) by clicking on the image and then, on the upper right hand side, there’ll be an image of a link. Click that link and then it’ll prompt you to put in your URL. The coolest part about this is that when you save it as a PDF, the links are still there!

I mainly use Adobe for my Thank You and Credits page but my advice for creating a Credits page in Canva would be to create both pages in the same design. On your credits page, put all the clip artists/font artists logos that you use and then just delete the ones that aren’t used when you add the credits to your resource. This will save you time instead of adding the clip/font artists that you do use for the resource.

What You Should Include on Your Thank You Page

Here’s a list of things I include on my Thank You page that I think would be beneficial for your Thank You page as well:

  • Simple/General thank you message to the customer for purchasing the product
  • Picture of you (it personalizes the product!)
  • Image/Link to social media platforms you have – for example: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Blog
  • Image/Link to TpT store
  • Way to sign up for your email list – if you have one
  • Your email address for customers to contact you with questions/concerns
  • Reminder about giving feedback for TpT credits

All You Need to Know About Tailwind Tribes

Tailwind Tribes is truly one of my favorite tools to use for marketing because it’s added so much traffic to my blog and products on TeachersPayTeachers. Tailwind Tribes are just how they sound, a tribe. If you’re not sure what Tailwind is, read this post about the basics of Tailwind before continuing.

I love being apart of Tailwind tribes because I am constantly inspired by other teachers. I find content that I want to save to my Pinterest because I believe my followers will benefit.

What’s a Tribe?

A tribe is a component of tailwind that sellers and bloggers use to market their products and posts. It’s a group of people who pin each others content so a wider audience sees whatever is being marketed. When you join Tailwind, you have the option to become a member of up to 10 tribes.

How Can I Join?

You can find the “Tribes” tab on the left hand side when you open Tailwind. Once you click this, you see “Your Tribes”, “Find a Tribe” and “Create a Tribe” on the top. When you click “Find a Tribe” you can search your niche and join up to 10 tribes. Simply click join tribe and then you will put in a request to the tribe leader. Once approved, you will be able to add your pins to the Tribe board.

What are the Rules?

Different tribes have different rules. A common rule is if you share one of your pins, you must then repin someone else’s pin. You can share as many pins as you want in most of these tribes, but for every pin you share, share one from the board. You can see your ratio of how many you’ve shared to how many you’ve shared of others in the two boxes by your name on the left side.

Another common rule is to use long pins or Pinterest sized pins. I create my pins in Canva. Canva makes it easy to create pins because they have the standard Pinterest size template.

Make sure you read each tribe’s rules so you don’t upset any leaders!

Join my Tribe

I’d love to have any lower elementary, specifically kindergarten teachers, join my tribe! Click the picture below and let’s help each other reach a larger audience!
